Teaching Hospital

We are committed to teaching as part of the University of Calgary’s Vet Med program, led by Dr. Morris and Dr. Ouellet.

Teaching Hospital

Village Vet is part of the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine’s Distributed Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Morris and Dr. Ouellet are tremendously committed to teaching and passionate about staying current in their knowledge. What this means is that from time to time, you may meet a veterinary student working with our healthcare team. Veterinary students are learning from the top veterinary minds in the province and have the most up-to-date and exciting information in this profession. They are a tremendous asset to being part of the team involved in your pet’s medical care.

The vets and healthcare team supervise students at all times. The extent of the student’s involvement in a case is dependent on their technical and communication skills, demonstrated knowledge, confidence, and what is reasonable and safe for them to be doing, as determined by the teaching veterinarian. You will always be notified if a student is in the clinic or involved in your pet’s case, and any questions you have will always happily be discussed.
